Contributor Agreement & Terms of Contribution
Thank you for your interest in contributing to Console Critics. This agreement outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and understanding between Console Critics and its contributors. By submitting content for publication, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the following terms.
Voluntary Contribution
Console Critics is currently an independent publication supported by volunteer contributors. At this stage, contributions are made voluntarily and are not considered employment or contractual work for compensation.
Submitting content does not establish an employer-employee relationship between you and Console Critics.
Original Work
By submitting an article or other creative work, you confirm that the submission is your own original work and that you have the right to submit it for publication.
You agree not to submit plagiarized material, copyrighted content without permission, or work that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of others.
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence tools may be used to assist with brainstorming, outlining, grammar, or proofreading. However, contributors are responsible for ensuring that every submission reflects their own ideas, knowledge, experiences, and writing.
Contributors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and originality of any work submitted.
Editorial Review
Every submission is reviewed before publication.
Console Critics reserves the right to:
- Edit submissions for grammar, spelling, formatting, clarity, readability, and editorial consistency.
- Request revisions before publication.
- Decline submissions that do not meet editorial standards or align with the publication’s mission.
Whenever practical, significant editorial changes will be discussed with the contributor before publication.
Publication Rights
By submitting content for publication, you grant Console Critics a non-exclusive license to publish, display, promote, and archive your work on the Console Critics website and official communication channels.
This license allows Console Critics to continue displaying published articles as part of the publication’s permanent archive.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, contributors retain ownership of their original work.
Contributor Credit
Console Critics believe creators deserve recognition for their work.
All accepted submissions will be published under your selected contributor name or author byline unless otherwise requested.
Published work may be included in your personal portfolio, résumé, LinkedIn profile, or other professional materials.
Publication Decisions
Submission of an article does not guarantee publication.
Editorial decisions are based on factors including quality, originality, accuracy, editorial fit, and available publishing schedules.
Console Critics reserves the right to decline submissions without obligation to publish every article received.
Professional Conduct
Contributors are expected to communicate respectfully and professionally throughout the editorial process.
Harassment, discrimination, plagiarism, intentionally misleading content, or abusive behavior may result in the rejection of submissions or removal from the contributor program.
Accuracy
Contributors are responsible for making reasonable efforts to ensure that factual statements are accurate at the time of submission.
If significant factual errors are discovered after publication, Console Critics may update, correct, or remove the content when appropriate.
Removal of Content
Console Critics reserves the right to edit, update, archive, or remove published content when necessary to maintain editorial standards, correct inaccuracies, comply with legal obligations, or improve the publication.
Whenever practical, contributors will be notified of significant changes affecting their published work.
Changes to These Terms
As Console Critics continue to grow, these Contributor Terms may be updated to reflect changes in editorial policies, contributor programs, or publication operations.
The most current version will always be available on the Console Critics website.
