Editorial Standards

Console Critics is committed to publishing thoughtful, engaging, and trustworthy content for gamers of all backgrounds. Our editorial standards are designed to create a consistent experience for readers while allowing each contributor’s unique voice and perspective to shine.

When writing for Console Critics, focus on providing value to the reader. Whether you’re reviewing a game, sharing an opinion, covering industry news, or exploring gaming culture, your goal should be to inform, entertain, or encourage meaningful discussion.

Write with clarity and confidence. Avoid unnecessary jargon, overly complicated language, or exaggerated claims. Support your opinions with examples whenever possible, and always strive to present information honestly and fairly.

We welcome a variety of perspectives, but all content should remain respectful toward players, developers, publishers, and members of the gaming community. Constructive criticism is encouraged; personal attacks, discriminatory language, or inflammatory content are not.

All submissions must be original. Contributors should not submit plagiarized material or content that has been copied from other publications. Artificial intelligence may be used as a writing aid for brainstorming, outlining, or proofreading, but every published article should reflect the contributor’s own knowledge, opinions, and writing style.

Before submitting your work, proofread your article carefully for grammar, spelling, and readability. Our editorial team may make minor edits for clarity, formatting, consistency, or style prior to publication. Significant editorial changes will be discussed with the contributor whenever possible.

Every article published on Console Critics represents both the author and the publication. We encourage contributors to take pride in their work and publish content they would feel confident sharing with friends, employers, and the broader gaming community.
